8Sheriff's Clerk
Assists, updates and informs the Sheriff. S/he prepares all the case papers for the Sheriff and makes sure the Sheriff is fully prepared for court. The Clerk usually sits just in front of the judge. The Clerk conducts the swearing in or affirmation of oath. When in court they wear a gown, starched collars and tabs.
